Emily's Book Blog

I judge every book by its cover . . .

About Me

My name is Emily Tanner. I’ve been an avid reader for as long as I can remember.

I love books that: make me think, take me away to places and times that I could never visit, make me feel emotions towards characters and situations, give me a perspective that I’ve never had before, and describe the characters emotions.

I dislike books: where the author is just trying to make a personal point and beats it to death, where God is questioned and/or rebuked continually, that are non-fiction and contain all facts and no story, that include unnecessary extremely graphic sexual and/or rape scenes, that are told in old English and/or not proper grammar (making it hard to read), or where the story line never goes anywhere and the same event or person’s feelings are covered over and over again.

I love getting suggestions on books to read. I always judge books by their covers and often their title’s as well, unless the book is a suggestion from someone. While there are many good books out there with horrible covers or titles, and horrible books out there with great covers or titles, I just can’t help it; the first impression of a book is what it looks like, and seeing as there are a million books out there, I don’t have the time to pick up every random book and read it to find out if it’s good or not, of course unless someone’s suggested it.
